Stamped from a thin metal sheet, the dynamic form captures the stylized muscle contours, broad maw, and swirling mane characteristic of Japanese Momoyama-period design. The surface is treated with an artificial darkening agent to give depth to the recessed textures, simulating aged soot and patina. Retaining its original perimeter holes used to fasten it to traditional furniture or large wooden doors, this plaque has been preserved and elevated as a framed work of art celebrating classic Japanese motif traditions.
